Litchfield Family Practice Center

Text messaging privacy policy

Effective date:

JardogsHealth hosts this page on behalf of Litchfield Family Practice Center, LLP, which provides its patient text messaging through the JardogsHealth platform.

This policy explains how Litchfield Family Practice Center, LLP (“Litchfield Family Practice Center,” “we,” or “us”) handles your mobile phone number and related information when we send you text messages. It applies to our patient text messaging program, “Litchfield Family Practice Center Patient Texts.” Our text messaging terms and conditions describe the program itself.

Information we collect

  • The mobile phone number you give us for text messages.
  • Your Yes or No answer to our text message question at check-in, which we record with the date, the time, and the wording you were shown.
  • The text messages we send you and any replies you send us, with the date, time, and delivery status of each message.

How we use it

We use this information only to run our patient text messaging program. Messages include appointment reminders and confirmations, notices that a new statement or an update from your care team is available in your patient portal, requests for information we need before your visit (such as a copy of your insurance card), and replies from our staff during office hours. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How we share it

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, your text messaging opt-in data, or your consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We use service providers to deliver our text messages, including our patient communications platform, JardogsHealth, Inc., and its messaging provider. They use your number and messages only to deliver our messages on our behalf, under written agreements that require them to protect this information.

Your health information

Our text messages may include limited information about your care, such as the date and time of an appointment. Our Notice of Privacy Practices describes how we use and protect your health information under HIPAA. You can ask for a copy at our front desk or by calling 217-324-6127.

Your choices

  • Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any of our text messages to stop receiving them. We will send one message confirming that you are unsubscribed. Reply START to resubscribe.
  • Reply HELP or call 217-324-6127 for help.
  • You can also ask our staff to update or withdraw your consent at any time. Agreeing to text messages is not a condition of receiving care.

How we protect it

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information described in this policy.

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
